Meet the Yellow Brick Guest House

aka Wellington North’s Coolest Stay

When the Reamans got their hands on one of Mount Forest’s most historic homes, they didn’t just renovate it—they brought it back to life. Equal parts history buffs and skilled craftsmen, this husband-and-wife team stripped back years of wear and rebuilt the house into something unforgettable. They styled it with vintage pieces that make every corner feel like a step back in time, then opened it to guests as the Yellow Brick Guest House on Airbnb. To match the vibe, they came to us for the full package—branding, a website, Airbnb listing, visitor guides, signage, and of course, a name that would do it justice.

Project
Branding

Mission: Create a name and brand identity that captured both the character of the home and the story of its historic revival.

Results: Yellow brick is iconic to certain parts of Ontario, and with Mark and Tracey using it as a feature in the home’s entrance, we knew it had to be at the heart of the brand. We wanted a name that felt timeless—more than “just another Airbnb”—and gave a nod to the tradition of guest and coach houses. That’s how The Yellow Brick Guest House was born. For the branding, we pulled rich yellow tones straight from the brick itself, paired with a brick-shaped logo accented by florals to reflect the lush gardens on the property. The font was carefully chosen to echo the stamped lettering found on handcrafted brick, tying the entire identity back to its roots. Rooms were named after historic hotels of Mount Forest's past.

Project
Guest Experience

Mission: Tracey already knew how to make the house feel like a home away from home for guests, but wanted to elevate the experience with modern ways to share information and thoughtful extras—without disrupting the historic charm and aesthetic.

Results: We created a custom digital guest guide, accessible through a QR code in a branded frame, that included everything from house information and rules to local recommendations and helpful tips. The guide was practical, beautifully on-brand, and easy for guests to access right from their phones. To keep the atmosphere immersive, we placed additional QR codes discreetly around the home—sharing bits of history or even hot tub rules—without the need for distracting signage. As a final touch, we designed a specialized Yellow Brick Cocktail Recipe Book, complete with vintage-inspired drinks, all accessed via QR code. These thoughtful digital details have been a hit with guests, blending convenience with character.

Project
Digital Domination

Mission: Digital domination! Put the Yellow Brick Guest House on the map with a strong social presence, an engaging Airbnb listing, and a website that gave potential guests an alternate way to connect.

Results: While the home’s stunning aesthetic draws attention on its own, we ensured every digital touchpoint—from social media to Airbnb to the website—was polished, optimized, and reflective of its historic character. The combination of the home’s transformation and a strong digital presence quickly paid off: bookings filled rapidly, the Yellow Brick Guest House became the standout stay in the area, and Tracey achieved Superhost status in record time.

Disclaimer: visiting their website may trigger an irresistible urge to book a stay.
